The NY Jets still remain the only team without a preseason touchdowns.
1. The loss of Plexico Burress may have affect red zone passing. He was a big target, tall and could jump. The Jets go to red zone receiver. Stephen Hill, the 2nd round pick for the Jets is 6’4″. However, when we was targeted in the red zone he failed to catch a pass that Burress would have caught.
2. The Jets have screwed up their offensive line. Jeff Otah failed to pass physical test (the Jets signed him in the offseason). Wayne Hunter was praised during the offseason but had been bench during 2 games because of his horrific performance. When the Jets played the Panthers Sunday night the back up for Hunter did great against the Panthers best defensive lineman.
The question still remains if the Jets have not done enough for Sanchez.
My answer: They have.
Shonn Greene is a very good running back because of his power. Tebow opens up the running game. Dustin Keller is a great TE and Santonio Holmes is a great weapon.
The Jets have the weapons and talents despite their terrible offensive performance.
Here are a few sleeper picks with the NFL season fast approaching:
Jeremy Kerley WR, NY Jets
Jon Baldwin WR, KC Chiefs
Jared Cook, TE, Tennessee Titans
Peyton Hills, RB, Cleveland Browns
What are the NY Jets planning to do with Tebow? As of now Tebow will be used the the red-zone.
Rex Ryan might not trust Sanchez’s short game. However, the Jets don’t have Plexico Burress anymore, a
tall WR. Tebow could create mismatches when on the field in the running game and passing game.
[Tebow is in LA right now with a former MLB pitcher. Most likely improving his throwing abilities.]
Jets drafted in the second round a 6’4″
WR Stephen Hill who is athletic, long and fast. Might be new #1 Red-Zone WR. With Santonio Holmes, Hill and Curley playing, the NY Jets might have a passing game this year.
The Jets are going to have a busy preseason. They need to sort a lot out after a productive offseason.

(this will be my last post about the NFL until next year)
The Super Bowl this year was a test of depth for the Giants and Patriots.
Why? Because the Patriots covered Cruz and Nicks (Giants WR) very well.
The Giant limited Welker (Patriots WR) and Gronkowski.
Forcing pressure of the the third and fourth string receivers.
How did the Giants pull off a late fourth quarter drive?
A throw to Manningham. (I must say it was amazing he caught that)
Tell me in a comment what sport (or anything else) that I should talk about next.

How do you make a “good” defense?
Its simple: Defensive-Linemen
The front four guys make or break a defense.
If you can get pressure on a QB with just four men, more guys can drop into the secondary.
For example, the NY Giants just might have be the best front four with Justin Tuck, Jason Pierre-Paul, Chris Canty, and Osi Umenyiora. Last week they shut down the Falcons offense.
Pressure on the QB is key and these guys can do it.
